Now it's crunch time. The final game. And though your team is battered and bruised they still have speed to drive the lane, muscle to power past picks, talent to break free underneath, and most importantly enough heart to win.***Only two months after the Famicom Disk version Konami released a cartridge version of "Double Dribble" to the US. The NES cartridge version has some minor graphical changes and some major sound changes (e.g. national anthem before the game, but no music during the match, as well as some speech samples on the title screen). Gameplay hasn't changes. You can choose between a couple of (non-licensed) teams and between three difficulty levels or a match against another human opponent. Options like league play or tournament mode are not available. The game however is fun enough and plays fast and well. Negative points are some sprite flickering and switching controls from one controllable player to the next. It is rather confusing, sometimes you don't know which player you control (despite the controlled character constantly flickering like mad). Presentation is good as well. One of the best mid 80's basketball game besides [game=#34821]International Basketball[/game] and [game=#34416]GBA Championship Basketball Two on Two[/game] (and surely the fastest one) I have played so far.***1 player or 2 players simultaneous.

This is the first videogame to feature America's National Anthem sung (lyrics, not just the music). It sucks! The singer is awful, actually has a slight british accent, and also sounds a bit like the standard 'mechanical voice'.
[Zerothis]***DOUBLE DRIBBLE, the first 5-on-5, full-court home basketball game, is pure hoops action at its finest. While still a surprisingly accurate basketball game for its time, the frantic action keeps you on your toes as your players run from one end of the court to the other. Choose from a handful of teams and multiple levels of difficulty as you take on the computer alone or challenge a friend and see who has the better skills. Take the ball and sink shots from locations all over the court, or get in your opponent's face and do your best to block the shot. Better yet, drive the lane and rock the rim to see one of the game's trademark slam-dunk cut scenes. He shoots, he scores!

Hoops  Jaleco;Jaleco USA (Aicom)1988Gym rats, beware! HOOPS takes you out to the asphault, where basketball is a half-court game of fast hands, faster moves and slam-jam-thank-you-Sam dunks! The legends of the Playground are all here: Mr. Doc, Jammer, Legs, Bomber, Wiz, eight players in all. You can pit them one-on-one or two-on-two. You pick the court - Eastern or Western - and you pick the rules, too. You can play against the computer or one other player. Or you can even team up with another player against the computer. You can block shots, make steals, pass off or go strong to the hoop - in fact, you control just about everything in this ultra-realistic rendition of the playground game. Except, of course, the final score. But win or lose, you know you've been in a game after you've played a game of HOOPS!***Moero!! Junior Basket published 1988-11-22 in Japan

All-Pro Basketball  Vic Tokai (Aicom)1989The crowd is roaring and the pressure is on...
You're just a basket away from victory. There are only seconds remaining in the game, and you've got the ball. But you're facing a tough zone defense that's bent on keeping you from scoring.
What do you do? Pass the ball? Try to drive for a lay-up and risk a foul? Or just put everything on the line and take a shot from where you stand? Whatever your decision, it'd better be quick. Because the ref has his hand on the whistle, and the clock is running...***

Arch Rivals: A Basket Brawl! Acclaim Entertainment (Rare)1990The full-court action between the Arch Rivals is really hot tonight. Here’s Mohawk, taking it to the hoop... POW! He just got nailed in the alley with a right cross! FOUL! FOUL! FOUL!
What?! No Foul? That’s right. No Fouls. This is basketball where breaking the rules is part of the rules! If you can’t block a shot – knock your opponent’s block off. If you can’t steal the ball – steal his shorts! But don’t think these tactics are enough to win. Arch Rivals still requires real B-ball skills like passing, shooting, ball handling, slam dunks, and 3 point shots.
Based on the arcade smash hit, Arch Rivals brings all of its hard-hitting "in your face" action into your home. Whether you’re going for a fast break, dodging food on the court, or crashing the boards ’til they shatter, Arch Rivals isn’t just basketball... it’s a basketbrawl!

U-Force Power Games Brøderbund1990U-Force Power games was ready for production in December of 1990 when THQ, Inc bought the videogames division of Brøderbund. The sale delayed indefinitely, this game as well as an unnamed RPG and an unnamed martial arts game that were also ready for production. Power Games was a 4-in-1 cartridge and was tested, hand-on, by at least 6 game magazines. One of these prototypes, obviously, turned up in the wild.

The following games are included:[list][*]Power Field B-Ball
[*]Nuclear Rat Attack
[*]Rock on Air
[*]Hose 'Em Down[/list]

Power Field B-Ball is a one-on-one basketball game requiring two U-Force controllers to be fully enjoyed. However, there is a one player mode.
Nuclear Rat Attack is a sci-fi game. The player has to defend a spaceship from mutant robot space rats. (Definitely a 3D whack-a-mole)
Rock on Air is a rock band simulation featuring a music synthesizer. Hand movements translate into sounds to compose songs.
Hose 'Em Down was a fire-fighting game where people burn to death if you fail to save them in time.

Nekketsu Street Basket: Ganbare Dunk Heroes  Technos1993Game description from [[link:http://www.romhacking.net Romhacking.net]]:

Yep, it's a badass Technos basketball game. Being technos, it should be a given that the game concentrates more on beating the snot out of your opponents than actually playing basketball. Also being a Technos game, it should be a given that it's quite fun. Anyway, the 'courts' (and I do use the term loosely) are riddled with obstacles, weapons and multi-level baskets, and are in such locales as Navy Ship Yards, downtown San Francisco, and many other zany places like that. You know, normal, Technos-style fun-fun ^_^
